Cox Communications email continues to experience service issues – can’t access, emails won’t fully download, etc. Plus I am working toward a position where I am not tied to Cox as my ISP. Like many providers in many industries, Cox operates on the premise that the banking industry terms ‘the core intangible’. This principle is based on a truism of human behavior: customers must experience a good amount of pain before they will undergo the inconvenience of switching providers. Under this principle, it is not loyalty that keeps a customer, but the hassle or inconvenience of transitioning to a new one. Alarm monitoring, auto insurance, and even some CPA firms I know use this approach. To ease the transition, best to start now and work slowly towards the goal of being unlinked.
