What personal website data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Information you provide in contact forms is collected and stored on our server and used to contact you about our services. How we protect your data

Your tax returns are prepared online using Intuit’s ProConnect platform. Intuit uses state-of-the-art technology to protect its servers and data against data breaches. Other information you provide is stored on our local server which uses two separate malware and intrusion detection tools. We do not store your credit card information on any payments we collect. Such payments are processed through a third-party banking site online only and no card data is collected on the firm’s website, stored on our server or by other means in our office,

What data breach procedures we have in place

Should we have a data breach, we will inform you directly as soon as practical after such breach is detected. Such communication will be made by phone or email and will include details of any breach and suggested actions you should take to protect your identity or other sensitive information.

Tax return data

Your tax return data may be shared with Intuit, the tax preparation software provider, to the extent necessary to provide this service to you. Financial statements and related data used to undertake our Attest and Financial Statement Preparation services may be shared with our Peer Review firm or other outside reviewer for quality assurance and professional standards compliance purposes. Absent a validly enforceable subpoena or records request arising from an audit by the taxing authorities, we do not share your tax information with any third parties without your express written consent.
